Well, it was bound to happen...where do I begin? We were supposed to go flying with Jeff today, but it was too windy, so we went to plan B. Lunch at McDonald's and to the park to slide and fly kites. It was soooo fun! We all had a blast! Then when we were done playing, it was off to the house to dye eggs...and then, all hell broke loose!
Here goes:
Wendy and I were getting the colors ready, the boys were playing Guitar Hero, and Dillon and Kainaan were waiting for the 'leggs' (that's what Kainaan calls them). Wendy has a bench seat for their dining table that Dillon and Kainaan love sitting on. Unfortunately with a 3 year old and almost 4 year old, it is an accident waiting to happen. They flipped it a few times since we have been here just because they are boys and they wiggle. But wiggling and this tall, narrow bench just don't mix well. So, Dillon was sitting on it with his legs folded back under him (toes dangling behind him), and Kainaan was trying to get up there (I think...it all happened so fast.) You see were I am going with this?? yep, the bench flipped back, Kainaan fell and Dillon fell, but the bench got Dillon's big toe (with NO shoes...OUCH!!!) At first, we were not sure what the extent of the damage was. Jeff saw blood through Dillon's sock and when he took the sock off...it was panic city because Dillon's poor toe was SMASHED!!! Kainaan was okay, but scared for Dillon. He was crying and saying that Dillon had an ouchie on his leg. Needless to say, Wendy, Jeff, and Dillon went to the ER. They found out that his toe was at least attached still, but only by the bone. Yeah, it was terrible. Its 10:00 at night here and he is in surgery. Say a prayer for the little guy!
Oh and 1 more thing, the title 'Things Happen In Three's'...Wendy first found out about Peyton (Brad & Lisa's little boy) and his finger needing stitches from his accident at school, then one of Wendy's friends called last night to tell of their kid getting stitches...sooooo, with a house full of boys here this weekend, we wondered if the third time would strike here, and it did!
I will try to post an update in a day or 2 when he's home and settled.
So now that everyone is filled in with our afternoon, take a look at our pics from earlier in the day when we were all playing! And Kainaan, Austin, Tyler and Tim went ahead and dyed their eggs and Dillon's are on the counter waiting for him when he gets back.
Enjoy the pics...and don't worry...its only 66 of them! LOL!
