Dragon Boat Race Day 2010

Who: Chicks Ahoy-The All Girls Team from Pilot Travel Centers
What: K.A.R.M. Dragon Boat Races
When: Saturday, June 26, 2010
Where: The Cove at Loudon Lake
Why: To raise money for Knox Area Rescue Ministries...helping the homeless.

So a "heat" is a race between 4 teams...there were about 60 teams, I think! And an estimated 8,000 people that showed up!
Our 1st heat was at 830 AM (we had to be there at 730!!!), and we didn't do too well...we came in 4th for that one heat...oops! LOL! :o) But it wasn't a bad 4th...we were maybe a half a boat behind the 3rd place boat...not bad...
But after hanging around and eating lunch that Pilot provided for us from Subway...and waiting some more...
Our 2nd heat was at 240 PM and we ROCKED IT! We were in a battle for 1st and at the very end came in 2nd...it was so close...lane #2 beat us by a DRAGON BEARD!
But hey...we did win BEST TEAM NAME!!! ~CHICKS AHOY!~
AND...we did win for the all female division...because we were the only all female team! HAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!!!!! :o)

Splash Country Fun Day!

Just wanted to share some pics from our fun day at the water park! :-) Kainaan and I had fun! Tim had to work!
We had a pretty good day...5 hours at the park, only 2 minor meltdowns, and 1 trip to the First Aid Office...
Yeah, Kainaan was being stubborn and not listening to me while we were at the wave pool...he wanted to sit on the side of the tube with his feet in the middle...NOT a good idea! As I tried to grab him to make him get up, he started to throw a fit and turned around in the tube...with his back to the waves. Since we were in the shallow end, the waves were really strong and before he knew it...a wave came under his tube and flipped him backwards! He knocked the back of his head on the bottom of the pool, so off to get some ice we went! He is so stubborn and clumsy! LOL! I foresee many accidents in our future!
